Day-1: Rishikesh to Lohajung (Drive)
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Rishikesh to Lohajung, covering approximately 250 kilometers. The drive takes around 10 hours, winding through picturesque landscapes of hills, valleys, and forests. As you ascend, the altitude reaches approximately 2300 meters/7800 feet. You’ll pass through charming towns like Devprayag, Srinagar, and Rudraprayag, offering glimpses of Uttarakhand’s natural beauty along the way.
Day-2: Lohajung to Gujreni
After arriving at Lohajung, the trek starts toward Gujreni. The trail is moderate, covering a distance of 4-5 kilometers, which takes about 5 hours. During the trek, you’ll gain an altitude of around 2800 meters/9200 feet. The path takes you through dense forests, providing a peaceful escape into nature. Gujreni is a quaint campsite surrounded by beautiful flora, making it an ideal spot for an overnight stay.
Day-3: Gujreni to Tilandi
On the third day, the trek leads from Gujreni to Tilandi, a short yet serene journey of approximately 4-5 kilometers, which takes about 4 hours to complete. The altitude reaches approximately 3200 meters/10500 feet. The trail traverses through scenic meadows and offers panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges. Tilandi serves as a peaceful campsite where trekkers can enjoy the calmness of the mountains.
Day-4: Tilandi to Brahmatal via Jhandi Top and Brahmatal Summit
This day is the highlight of the trek, where you ascend to Brahmatal via Jhandi Top. The trek covers a distance of 6 kilometers, taking around 7-8 hours. You’ll reach an altitude of 3750 meters/12250 feet at Brahmatal Summit. The path is challenging yet rewarding, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and surrounding forests. The campsite at Brahmatal is located at 3200 meters/10700 feet, making it a perfect spot for stargazing and relaxation.
Day-5: Brahmatal to Lohajung
After soaking in the serene beauty of Brahmatal, the descent begins towards Lohajung. The trek covers approximately 10 kilometers, taking around 8 hours to complete. The altitude reduces back to around 2300 meters/6400 feet. The trail offers a different perspective of the landscape, with views of meadows, forests, and occasional glimpses of distant peaks. Lohajung serves as a base for the final overnight stay.
Day-6: Lohajung to Rishikesh
The final day marks your return journey from Lohajung to Rishikesh. The drive is approximately 250 kilometers and takes around 10 hours. The winding roads through the Himalayan region provide a chance to reflect on the trek and carry unforgettable memories. Keep in mind that the drive can be influenced by weather conditions, so it’s advisable to plan for any possible delays or additional buffer time.
