Day 1: Sankri to Taluka
The Har Ki Dun Trek begins from Sankri, a beautiful village in Uttarakhand. From Sankri, you will drive to Taluka, the starting point of the trek. The 12 km drive offers stunning views of the mountains and the surrounding landscapes. Upon reaching Taluka, you will begin your trek towards the next destination.
Day 2: Taluka to Osla
The trek from Taluka to Osla spans approximately 12 km and takes around 6 hours. The trail meanders through dense forests and remote villages, offering a glimpse into the rural life of Uttarakhand. Osla, with its traditional Garhwal architecture, is known for its historical significance and serene surroundings.
Day 3: Osla to Har Ki Dun
Today’s trek covers a distance of 12 km, taking about 6 hours. The trail ascends gently through scenic meadows, dense forests, and alpine valleys. Har Ki Dun, known as the “Valley of Gods,” offers panoramic views of snow-clad peaks such as Swargarohini and the surrounding peaks, making it a perfect spot for photography and relaxation.
Day 4: Har Ki Dun to Jaundhar Glacier and Back
A day dedicated to exploring the Jaundhar Glacier, which lies at an altitude of around 14,000 feet. The trek to the glacier and back covers a distance of approximately 8 km and takes around 5-6 hours. The views from the glacier are breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of surrounding peaks.
Day 5: Har Ki Dun to Osla
On Day 5, you will trek back to Osla from Har Ki Dun. The return trek covers a distance of 12 km and takes around 6 hours. The trail follows the same path, allowing trekkers to absorb the beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas one last time before reaching the village of Osla.
Day 6: Osla to Taluka
The trek from Osla to Taluka is approximately 12 km and takes around 6 hours. This day marks the end of the trek through the beautiful Har Ki Dun valley. After reaching Taluka, you will drive back to Sankri.
Day 7: Sankri – Departure
On the final day, you will leave Sankri and head back to Dehradun or your preferred destination. The trek concludes, leaving behind memories of stunning landscapes, rich culture, and a sense of adventure.
