Day-1: Arrival Leh
Upon arrival at Leh, at an altitude of 3,500 meters, you will check into a hotel. A mandatory briefing about the trek will be held at 5 pm. Ensure you bring a copy of your ID proof and two passport-sized photographs. Mobile network is available (post-paid only), and ATMs are accessible for any financial needs. Trekking equipment can be purchased or rented from Leh. Avoid visiting very high-altitude places. Alcohol consumption and smoking are strictly prohibited. Overnight stay will be in a hotel.
Day-2: Acclimatization at Leh
This day is dedicated to acclimatization. Sightseeing includes visits to monasteries like Shey, Thiksey, Sangam, and Hemis. Avoid activities like River Rafting, which can be planned after your trek. Stay in the same hotel to ensure proper rest and acclimatization.
Day-3: Drive Leh to Skiu then trek to Sara
Today, drive to Skiu (3,400 m) and then trek to Sara (3,600 m). The drive takes approximately 2-3 hours covering 70 km, followed by an 11 km trek that takes about 5-6 hours. Hot lunch will be provided at the camp site.
Day-4: Sara to Markha
From Sara, trek to Markha, an altitude of 3,700 meters. The trek is about 10 km, which takes 5-6 hours. Enjoy the views and a hot lunch at the camp site.
Day-5: Markha to Hankar
The trek from Markha to Hankar reaches an altitude of 4,100 meters. The distance is approximately 13 km and takes around 7-8 hours. Overnight stay in tents at Hankar.
Day-6: Hankar to Nimaling
Trekking from Hankar to Nimaling at 4,800 meters involves a 12 km trek, lasting about 7-8 hours. Enjoy the stunning landscapes and a hot lunch at the camp site.
Day-7: Nimaling to Kang Yatse Base Camp
From Nimaling, reach Kang Yatse Base Camp at 5,100 meters with a trek of 3-4 km, which takes around 3-4 hours. Overnight stay in tents.
Day-8: Rest and Training Day
This day is for rest and familiarizing yourself with technical equipment issued by the TTH team. Avoid overexertion to conserve energy for upcoming challenges.
Day-9: Trek from Kang Yatse Basecamp to Camp
Trek to Camp 1 at 5,700 meters, covering approximately 3-4 km in 3-4 hours. Ensure you carry sufficient warm water, as the glacier water point is the only source available.
Day-10: Trek from Camp 1 to Camp 2
From Camp 1 to Camp 2, trek a distance of 2-3 km to an altitude of 5,900 meters, which takes around 3-4 hours.
Day-11: Summit to KY I Peak & Descent to Camp 1
The highlight of the trek is the ascent to Kang Yatse I Peak at 6,400 meters. This trek covers 8-9 km and takes approximately 10-11 hours. Descend back to Camp 1 for the night.
Day-12: Camp 1 to Base Camp
Descend from Camp 1 back to the Base Camp at 5,100 meters. This trek is about 3-4 km and takes 3-4 hours.
Day-13: Rest and Acclimatization Day at Base Camp
A day dedicated to rest and acclimatization. Ensure you stay hydrated and avoid any strenuous activities to prepare for the final summit attempt.
Day-14: Base Camp to Kang Yatse II Summit & Back
Reach the summit of Kang Yatse II at 6,250 meters, trekking 6 km both ways, which takes around 11-12 hours.
Day-15: Base Camp to Chokdo via Kongmaru La & Drive to Leh
The final trek day involves going from Base Camp to Chokdo via Kongmaru La (5,200 meters). The trek covers 16 km, taking around 7-8 hours, followed by a 60 km drive back to Leh.
