The Stok Kangri Peak Trek Expedition is a challenging 9-day adventure in the majestic landscapes of Ladakh, offering trekkers the opportunity to conquer one of the highest trekking peaks in India. Starting and ending at Leh, the trek spans 40 kilometers through diverse terrains, combining stunning views, high-altitude camping, and a rewarding climb to the summit at 20,180 feet. Trekkers will experience the unique beauty of Ladakh, with comfortable twin-sharing camping accommodations and delicious vegetarian and egg-based meals provided throughout the journey.

July | August | September |

Day-1: Arrival Leh
Upon arrival in Leh (3500 m/11,500 ft.), check into your hotel. At 5 PM, attend a mandatory briefing about the trek. Ensure you bring a copy of your ID proof and two photographs (foreigners must also carry a copy of their passport and visa). Mobile network is available (post-paid only), and ATMs are accessible in Leh. Avoid visiting very high-altitude places or passes. Consumption of alcohol and smoking is strictly prohibited. Stay overnight in a comfortable hotel.

Day-2: Leh (Acclimatization Day)
Spend the day acclimatizing in Leh with a sightseeing tour of monasteries like Shey, Thiksey, Sangam, and Hemis. Avoid river rafting and any visits to very high-altitude places. Stay overnight in a hotel.

Day-3: Leh to Chang Ma via Stok Village
Drive from Leh to Stok Village (15 km, 35 minutes) and then trek to Chang Ma (4,000 m/13,200 ft.). The trek covers 6 km in 4-5 hours with an altitude gain of 500 m/1,700 ft. A moderate level ascent with water refill points available. Enjoy hot lunch at the campsite and spend the night in a tent.

Day-4: Chang Ma to Mankorma
Trek from Chang Ma to Mankorma (4,400 m/14,400 ft.), covering 4 km in 3 hours with an altitude gain of 400 m/1,200 ft. This stage involves an easy ascent, with water refill points from the river. Hot lunch will be served at the campsite, and the night will be spent in a tent.

Day-5: Mankorma to Base Camp
Trek from Mankorma to Base Camp (5,000 m/16,350 ft.), covering 5 km in 6 hours with an altitude gain of 600 m/1,950 ft. This stage starts with moderate difficulty, transitioning to difficult as there are no water refill points beyond the halfway mark. Enjoy hot lunch at the campsite, and stay overnight in a tent.

Day-6: Rest Day + Training Day
On this rest day, the TTH team will issue and guide you on the use of technical equipment. A briefing and summit planning session will follow. Rest as much as possible to conserve energy for the summit push. The summit attempt begins at 10 PM (timings may vary).

Day-7: Base Camp to Stok Kangri and back to Base Camp
Trek from Base Camp to Stok Kangri (6,155 m/20,190 ft.) and back, covering a total of 14 km in 12-14 hours. Reach the summit by 6 AM and return to Base Camp by 12 noon. Carry sufficient hot water, as the only water point is at the glacier and is extremely cold. Enjoy a packed breakfast and hot lunch at the campsite, then return to the Base Camp.

Cancellation and Refund Policy – Trek On Climbs

At Trek On Climbs, we understand that plans can change. Below is our comprehensive cancellation and refund policy to help you make informed decisions while booking with us:

Cancellations Made 25 Days or More Before the Trek

Refund Options:

  • 95% of the trek fee is refundable (5% deduction applies).
  • Alternatively, a 100% cash voucher (valid for one year) can be issued for any trek.
  • You can also transfer your booking to a friend for any trek and any date.

Cancellations Made Between 24 to 15 Days Before the Trek

Refund Options:

  • 70% of the trek fee is refundable (30% deduction applies).
  • A 100% cash voucher is available for the same trek (valid for one year).
  • An 85% cash voucher is available for any trek (valid for one year).
  • Transfers to a friend are allowed for the same trek on any date.

Cancellations Made Between 14 to 10 Days Before the Trek

Refund Options:

  • 50% of the trek fee is refundable.
  • An 80% cash voucher is available for the same trek (valid for one year).
  • A 70% cash voucher is available for any trek (valid for one year).
  • You may shift to another batch for the same trek within the same season (subject to availability).
  • Transfers to a friend are allowed for the same trek on any date.

Cancellations Made Less Than 9 Days Before the Trek

Refund Options:

  • No cash refund is available.
  • A 20% cash voucher is available for the same trek (valid for one year).
  • A 10% cash voucher is available for any trek (valid for one year).
  • You may transfer your booking to a friend for the same trek and date.

Special Circumstances: Cancellation by Trek On Climbs

In rare situations where Trek On Climbs cancels a trek due to unavoidable circumstances such as extreme weather conditions or natural disasters:

  • A 100% voucher will be issued for the amount paid, redeemable for any trek within one year.
  • This does not apply if a participant is required to descend due to health issues or rule violations.

Change of Trek or Batch

In cases where a trek shift becomes necessary due to unforeseen weather or logistical challenges:

  • Participants will be provided with an alternative trek.
  • Cost differences will be adjusted through vouchers valid for one year.
  • Batch changes are subject to seat availability.

Additional Terms

  • Refunds are not applicable for bookings made with promotional offers, vouchers, or discount codes.
  • Vouchers are non-transferable and can only be redeemed for treks booked directly with Trek On Climbs.
  • Trek On Climbs reserves the right to modify policies and itineraries without prior notice due to factors like road closures, government directives, or participant health concerns.
